Artist Talk and Artwork Installation iN PRivate Residence
Calloway Art & Consulting
As a skilled project manager and curator, I successfully curated an artist talk and oversaw the professional installation of two large, breathtaking artworks in a private residence located in Austin, Texas.

Item descriptionIn collaboration with the gallery owner and client, I meticulously selected artworks that would make a statement and complement the client's high-rise apartment's large wall space. The process involved consultation with the client and a thorough assessment of their preferences and tastes.
I led the charge in executing the project by ensuring a seamless process, from the artist's travel arrangements to the artwork installation and conducting the artist talk. My dedication to detail and commitment to delivering quality ensured the project's success, leading to satisfied clients, and significant profit for the artist and gallery.
This project not only highlighted my exceptional curatorial skills but also established the gallery's reputation as a top-tier art gallery.
Situation Rhubarb
Independent Arts Organization
A non-venue based visual arts organisation set up by Hannah Marsden and Sheila Gonzalez, Situation Rhubarb created opportunities for early career artists to show work in insightful and dynamic contexts. Motivated to experiment with the presentation and interpretation of art, Situation Rhubarb produced exhibitions, live performances and installations both within and without the gallery setting. The aim was to support regional artists to locate their work within unfamiliar settings and dialogues, encouraging them to engage with challenging situations.

Residential Art Project: 4th October - 2nd November 2012
188 Simonside Terrace, Heaton, NE6 5LA
With work by Alex Hanson-Deakin, Rachel Maloney, Claire Rowlands and Rebecca TravisSituation Rhubarb and co-curator Rebecca Travis present BUILT AROUND YOU, a residential artist project in the area of Heaton, Newcastle. Taking place across the month of October 2012, BUILT AROUND YOU comprised of a three-week artist residency, a resulting group exhibition and an events programme over the course of the project, taking place at 188 Simonside Terrace, Heaton.
The area of Heaton, as well as at some point being a place to call ‘home’ for all involved in the project, is a vibrant community constantly in flux. As an area populated by young people and students with no stable hold on a property, many of the residents move year by year from one terraced house to the next. With this in mind artists Alex Hanson-Deakin, Rachel Maloney, Claire Rowlands and Rebecca Travis will create artworks on-site at an empty terraced property. They explored the house, its architecture, history, and surrounding environment, in addition to wider themes such as the terraced house as a framework for living, transient communities, the ‘nesting’ process and physical traces left behind - drawing both on their own personal experiences and memories and those present in the house.
An accompanying programme of events encouraged discussions around key themes of the project in addition to playing on the ‘hosting’ ability of the home environment.Situation Rhubarb and co-curator Rebecca Travis present BUILT AROUND YOU, a residential artist project in the area of Heaton, Newcastle. Situation Rhubarb invites you to explore borders, boundaries, and the spaces between.
The idea of a border or a boundary is often that of a line separating the edge of two or more things, but what is considered here is how these borders and boundaries often create new spaces of their own. By exploring the areas around the border, the artists in this project investigate this idea of a dynamic border rather than a static one. The artists create new ways for us to think about what borders mean, how they affect us and how they shape our opinions and identities. Exploring the physical boundaries that separate us, the influence of geographical borders on identity, and the changing boundaries in communication, the artists question whether we define borders or they define us.
